  • Make hard surfaces sublimation capable
  • Easy DIY coating
  • Spray and bake
  • Multiple finishes and opacities
  • 400 mL aerosol cans

Subli Glaze™ Sublimation Coatings transform hard objects into dye sub surfaces. It's a simple spray-and-bake, do-it-yourself process. This product creates a thin polymer layer to which sublimation inks can bond. Without this polymer layer, images won't transfer.

Subli Glaze™ is suitable for ceramics, glass, acrylic, wood, slate, metal. It's available in multiple finishes and opacities: clear gloss, clear matte, opaque white, and translucent white. Some surfaces require two kinds of spray, as well as adhesion promoter. Keep reading for coating combinations and material recommendations. This product comes in 400 mL aerosol cans with 12 cans per case.

Subli Glaze™ Clear and Matte

Clear (gloss) has a blue cap. (Clear) Matte has a navy cap. Use by itself on white or light-coloured ceramic. Use in combination with adhesion promoter and/or with white sprays for different materials.

Directions

  1. Ensure the surface to be coated is clean, dry, and free from grease.
  2. Shake the can well for 1 minute.
  3. Apply Subli Glaze™ coating smoothly and evenly, holding the can approximately 12 inches (30 cm) from surface using light passes at room temperature.
  4. Use multiple passes for a higher gloss finish (Clear) or higher matte finish (Matte) but do not allow the spray to pool on the surface.
  5. Allow to air dry for 10 minutes then cure in an oven at 320°F (160°C) for 15-20 minutes.

Subli Glaze™ White Opaque

White Opaque has a red cap. Use it to create a white background. It's particularly useful for black dark-coloured, or opaque materials. Sublimation ink will be very dark and nearly impossible to see if applied on top of dark colours. It's suitable for all hard materials including metal, opaque acrylic, slate, ceramic, wood, and opaque glass. It requires adhesion promoter and Subli Glaze™ Clear or Matte.

Directions

  1. Ensure the surface to be coated is clean, dry, and free from grease.
  2. Prime the surface with adhesion promoter.
  3. Shake the can well for 1 minute.
  4. Apply a fine coating of White Opaque and allow to air dry for 5 minutes.
  5. Apply on top a fine coating of Subli Glaze™ Clear or Matte and allow to air dry for 5 minutes.
  6. Cure in an oven at 320°F (160°C) for 15-20 minutes.

Subli Glaze™ White Translucent

White Translucent has a green cap. It is designed for clear materials such as glass and acrylic. The translucence creates a white background but still allows some light to pass through. This spray applies to the backside of the material. When the image is applied, the sublimation ink passes through the white layer and the image is visible on the other side of the clear material, the uncoated side. This coating requires adhesion promoter and Subli Glaze™ Clear.

Directions

  1. Ensure the surface to be coated is clean, dry, and free from grease.
  2. Prime the surface with adhesion promoter.
  3. Shake the can well for 1 minute.
  4. Coat glass first with Subli Glaze™ Clear and allow to air dry for 5 minutes.
  5. Apply a fine coating of White Translucent over the clear and allow to air dry for 5 minutes.
  6. Cure in an oven at 320°F (160°C) for 15-20 minutes.

Subli Glaze™ UV Protection

UV Protection has an orange cap. It isn't a sublimation coating at all. It protects sublimated images from UV fading, keeping the colours vivid. Is your finished product going outside or near a window? Consider adding UV protection. This product sprays on after the image has been applied.

Directions

  1. Ensure the surface to be coated is clean, dry, and free from grease.
  2. Shake the can well for 1 minute.
  3. Apply Subli Glaze™ UV Protection coating smoothly and evenly, holding the can approximately 10" (25cm) from surface using light passes at room temperature.
  4. Air dry for 24 hours. The substrate is touch dry in approximately 1 hour and fully cured in 24 hours.

Subli Glaze™ Adhesion Promoter

Subli Glaze™ Adhesion Promoter is used with Subli Glaze™ Sublimation Coatings. It helps the coatings bond to super smooth materials such as glass, acrylic, and metal. This prevents the coating from separating from the substrate after pressing. Unlike the Sublimation Coatings, it isn't a spray-on product. It applies with a cloth or a foam brush. Adhesion Promoter comes in 250 mL plastic bottles with 20 bottles per case.

Directions

  1. Ensure all surfaces to be pre-treated are clean, dry, and free from dirt or grease.
  2. With a soft clean cloth or foam brush. apply liberally over the surface to be coated. Ensure even coverage.
  3. Allow Subli Glaze™ Adhesion Promoter to bond with the surface for approximately 30 seconds.
  4. Remove any excess with a clean cloth. When removing excess, try to eliminate any grease or smudge marks, if present.
